In this new section of my blog, I will be presenting you with a series of articles about Excel under the general heading of Hide and seek

Here are my opening words

How to stop playing hide and seek with Excel

Let’s face it, almost everything is hidden from you when you first open Excel. Yes, the ribbon system is great and yes, you can find lots of things really easily and quickly. And then you can’t!

Now What? And who wants to play hide and seek when there’s a deadline looming or when you know what you want to do but there’s just one piece of the Excel jigsaw missing?

Click File and scoot down to Options … you’ve now arrived at the backstage area of Excel and this is where they hide things. On the menu of the left hand side of this backstage area are these categories

  • General
  • Formulas
  • Data
  • Proofing
  • Save
  • Language
  • Ease of Access
  • Advanced
  • Customize Ribbon
  • Quick Access Toolbar
  • Add-Ins
  • Trust Center

In the first few episodes of these podcasts, I will explore these categories and then Excel will have nowhere to hide from you!

In the first episode I will share with you how to the QAT, the Quick Access Toolbar and that alone will blow your mind!

Stay safe in this uncertain world
